2000 Merit Award
Dr. Drago Bukur, Mr. Dennis Hendersho and Dr. Mannan

The 2000 Merit Award was presented to Mr. Dennis Hendershot of Rohm and Haas Company.

Mr. Hendershot is a Senior Technical Fellow, Process Hazard Assessment, Rohm and Haas Engineering Division. He has worked in research and development, plant design and startup, and technical support for operating plants.

Since 1980, he has focused on process safety, including development and implementation of modern process safety tools, and development of corporate policies on risk management. He is past chair of the Safety and Health Division of AIChE. He serves on the editorial review boards of Chemical Engineering Progress, Process Safety Progress, and the Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries.

Mr. Hendershot received his BS in chemical engineering from Lehigh University in 1970, and his MS from the University of Pennsylvania in 1978.
