Quantitative Risk Assessment

An essential goal of a Chemical Process Quantitative Risk Analysis (CPQRA) is to estimate the frequencies and the consequences of specific incidents. Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) has been widely used in the nuclear and utility industries. FTA estimates the probability of accident occurrence and provides information about probable causes of such accidents. In particular, it provides a quantitative evaluation of process safeguards. This approach is particularly valuable in risk management.
