    The candidate will serve as the primary point of contact on assigned projects within the Process Safety Laboratory (PSL) to ensure full safety assessment and safe execution of chemical processes in global chemistry laboratories, supply chain, and manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities include generation and support of a testing strategy and discussion/evaluation of that strategy with Project Scientists, Supply Chain Supervisors, and other stakeholders across the local and global sites. The candidate will perform safety testing experimentation in the Process Safety Laboratory, research literature based safety information, evaluate data generated from tests, accurately document results in appropriate databases and reports and communicate outcomes to customers and partners. Effective communication skills are essential. The position requires approximately 30% office responsibilities and 70% laboratory responsibilities. The candidate must routinely lift 25 pounds to 38 inches and work in standard chemistry fume hoods.Functional Responsibilities:

    • The position will include the following roles and responsibilities:
    • Serve as a chemistry expert within the process safety laboratory
    • Coordinate and perform the daily activities for assigned projects within a process safety-testing laboratory.
    • Meet with project scientists and supply chain supervisors to communicate and coordinate safety-testing requirements prior to scaleup in chemistry laboratories/supply chain/manufacturing facilities.
    • Perform Fall Hammer, DSC, TSu, ARC, RC1, Super CRC, and Phi-Tech experiments. Enter all data into a global database.
    • Foster appropriate use of reaction heat estimation within the global process safety network
    • Interpret data from RC1, Super CRC, ARC, DSC, TSu, Phi-Tech, BAM Fall Hammer, and HPLC instrumentation to make recommendations for the safe scaleup of chemical processes in chemistry laboratories/supply chain/manufacturing facilities.
    • Support development of new workflow approaches and technologies that allow maximum efficiency of safety testing and application of results.
    • Perform literature and Internet searches to benchmark best practices for various chemical reactions and reagents.
  • DuPontDuPont is seeking a Mammalian Cell Research Scientist to join our research organization located in Wilmington, Delaware.

    The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team primarily focused on developing polymer-based medical devices for surgical applications. The successful candidate will develop mammalian cell based assays and formulations for specialty applications in medical devices. We are seeking a self-motivated, highly driven person to provide technical leadership and research output in a fast-paced environment.

    The Research Scientist is expected to develop test protocols using mammalian cells for new specialty polymeric materials. Responsibilities include developing assays to test formulations for tissue response, integrating with process options, conducting laboratory experiments necessary for the development of a commercial product that meets customer needs.

    Qualifications:

    • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Polymers or related discipline.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of working with mammalian cells for polymer applications
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Experience working in a medical research laboratory
    • Experience with polymeric materials and processes in medical applications is desired.

    ERM seeks senior and mid-level Process Safety Engineers for its Houston-based EHS Consulting Group. These individuals will manage and execute process safety projects including audits, HAZOP’s, PHA’s and other process safety related work for industrial clients throughout the Southwest. Projects will include EHS auditing for chemical and refinery clients including line verification and chemical process hazard analysis. Senior technical consultants will be responsible for developing scopes of work, growing and leading a team of consultants (based in Houston and/or other international locations) and ensuring that all projects are completed in accordance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.

    Position requirements include:

    • BS in related technical field (MS Preferred).
    • 8 years of relevant experience which must include at least 3 years of EHS auditing experience and 5 years of industrial process safety experience.
    • Existing business relationships in the chemical and oil & gas sectors and ability to leverage those relationships for business development.
    • Expert knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations and Process Safety Management standards.
    • Strong business acumen and ability to create highly consultative relationships with clients.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
    • Relevant certifications including CSP, PE, CHMM, CIH (strongly preferred).
